Footwear Care

We hope the following information helps you get the most out of your Duca del Cosma products.

Proper care is required to maintain and prolong the look, comfort, feel, and performance of golf shoes. Both leather and synthetic golf shoes must be thoroughly cleaned and properly stored between rounds to prolong their look and lifespan.

Before Your Round

Use a shoe horn when putting on your golf shoes. This protects the heel counter of the shoe. Damage to the heel counter can cause improper fit in the heel, which can lead to blistering and overall discomfort.

After Your Round

Never wash your shoes in the washing machine. Immersion and exposure to detergents can attack the stitching and bonding agents within the product.

Leather Uppers

Clean leather golf shoes after each round by removing dirt and residue using our Duca del Cosma Shoe Care Kit.

Synthetic Uppers

Clean synthetic golf shoes after each round using water and a clean cloth or sponge. Dry the surface with a soft, lint free cloth or towel.

If Your Shoes Get Wet

If your shoes become soaked during a round, allow them to air dry at room temperature. Remove the footbed and place crumpled newspaper inside for 8 to 10 hours to absorb excess moisture. Never dry your shoes using a blow dryer or any external heat source, as excessive heat can damage both the uppers and the outsoles. Likewise, avoid drying your shoes in direct sunlight, and instead allow them to air dry in a shaded area or indoors.

Once dry, remove the newspaper, replace it with a shoe tree, and use a shoe protector.

Linings

The linings used in Duca del Cosma products are made from breathable material that requires little to no maintenance. Foot moisture is absorbed and the drying process is quick thanks to the breathable nature of the linings.

General Care

• Remove the laces when cleaning
• Remove the inner sole when cleaning your golf shoes
• Rotate between two pairs of shoes. Properly maintained, this will make them last much longer than twice the life of a single pair
• Undo the laces before removing the shoe from your foot, to help retain its shape and durability
• Do not store your golf shoes in a car trunk, where high or low temperatures can break down shoe materials and decrease their lifespan
• We recommend keeping shoe trees in your golf shoes whenever they are not being worn

Using the Duca del Cosma Premium Shoe Care Kit

With Duca del Cosma's premium shoe care kit, your golf shoes get the care they need to stay clean, look good, and stay protected from the elements.

The kit includes a Duca Shoe Brush, Duca Shoe Cleaner, Duca Shoe Protector, and Duca Neutral Shoe Polish.

1. Shoe Brush

The brush loosens and removes debris, preventing it from coating your shoes.

2. Shoe Cleaner

Our gentle cleaning formula removes dirt and diminishes stains. Safe to use on leather, canvas, nylon, rubber, and mesh, it nourishes and protects all the materials of your shoe.

Instructions for use:

1. Use the dry cleaning brush supplied with your kit to remove any loose or excess dirt
2. Dip the cleaning brush into a bowl of water to rinse and dampen
3. Apply a liberal amount of Duca Shoe Cleaner to the brush
4. Gently scrub your shoes to create a foaming action
5. Wipe clean with a cloth, and repeat as needed
6. Allow your footwear to air dry for 24 hours

3. Shoe Protector

Our shoe protection formula works on all types of materials and helps prevent discoloration by forming an invisible nano coating. This carefully crafted oil based solution creates a UV resistant, water repellent barrier to help preserve your favorite Duca footwear.

Instructions for use:

1. Apply the shoe protector
2. Allow to air dry for 24 hours

4. Neutral Polish

Shines, nourishes, and protects.

Instructions for use:

1. Apply after using Duca Shoe Cleaner and allowing it to air dry
2. Shake the bottle well before use
3. Push the top of the bottle down and press the red button to release the polish
4. Apply a small amount to your shoes and rub in using a circular motion
